A bit late out of the starting blocks. Who knows, mebbe an "I-Console" will sell well. Kinda hope not. Why? Must I explain why I don't like Apples?

They do need a completely new product, otherwise they'll have nothing new to sell!

They've taken the iPod about as far as it can go, already. What new feature could you add to it, that people need or want?

Edit :: Upon reading the article im thinking they are going to make a iphone hand held system *i-hand(held)* to market against the ds.

My Ds has a homebrew software on it similiar to the iphone firmware and it can make calls

This actually kinda makes sense for Apple. They have a pretty solid userbase which they can depend on to buy anything from them, and gaming is one of the few weaknesses that their marketting team can't hide behind a mountain of BS.

If they are producing a console of sort, it's unlikely to be handheld, as, that's covered, to some extent by the iPhone. I imagine it'll be a white plastic home media systems that happens to play games. They could also work solely on distributing games via iTunes of some form of.

Food for thought. Many laughed at the idea of Apple producing a phone.

Hand held and white? Creepy, or what? Should we assume that they have so much money from their overpriced product line that they could build a decent console?

Similar to Microsoft's combining of the 360 with PC gaming to allow developers to write once and port easily, you might see Apple doing the same thing, allowing developers to hit two platforms at once.
