IBM HD problems

I'got a 160GB 5400rpm IDE HD that is giveing me problems. It is recognized in Cmos and Windows manager: "Some programs in Hirams boot CD won't recogognise it. Acronis will create partitions and complete the work, sayin so on screen and showing it. but when I click ok-It goes right back to unalicated with no explanation at all.
I think it was super Fdisk that said I/O error otherers that have said MBR error. I'm thinking of dissconnecting the sata drive and seeing if I can't get something to work on this drive.any ideas?

Have you tried completely reformatting the disk before handing it over to windows? Are you sure that it's formatted in NTFS?

I'm just back from the hospital so now is a good time for that. disconnect the sats drive And then ALL I have to fight with is the 160 IDE. A couple Cmos adjustments. I'll see what I can do.

I hope you feel better after your journey to medico land! MBR error-- maybe cleaning and reformatting will help.

I know it's not a nice thing to do but I don't have the enerjy to deal with computer problems right now-I'm just going to let it fold and leave it alone. I'm just tired.. I'll pick it back up with yo later.
