My first machine I got when I was 7 in 1996, was a 486SX with 2MB RAM, 600MB hard drive and a 12" CRT. Wowee was it fast. Brought it second hand from my cousin. In 2000 went to an AMD K6-2 550mhz, with 64MB RAM and a 10.2GB hard drive, even had a CD-ROM, that was pretty flash!

So I was VERY LATE coming to the "World of Computers".

My first computer was a Gateway 500X which was very fast & modern for 2002. I still have it & it works fine still.

Pent 4-B 2.4GHz CPU, 845GRG mobo, 512Mbs Ram, dedicated Nvidia Geforce 4 MX440 graphics card, 80gb IDE Western HD, CD & DVD-RAM drive & of course the good old Floppy drive with a whopping 160w PSU to power it all!
Also with the package was a modern 15" LCD flatscreen monitor.

Grand Total price in 2002: $2230!

You can get a computer now that is 100% faster & more powerful for 1/3 the price & that is already built!

And while we are at it, lets not forget the G-15 Digital computer! (this is the compact model below)
I was hoping that was your first Computer in the pic...no such luck! ":O}

I have an old Laptop (and I use the term loosely) here in the garage that I've been meaning to post pix of. Guess I need to jump on that.

Last week I was asked to fix a laptop that was about 4in thick, 12in screen and had Win 95 on it. I passed! The 'ol door stop! Wish I'd have taken a pic.

She wanted to go wi-fi!
