Help me watch SSD prices

I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY want my first Solid State Hard Drive this Holiday Season!
I plan to use it for Linux Mint 13 and a LOT of game testing!
There have been some pretty good deals on newegg.com recently... like: $80 for a 128Gig drive
Thats exactly what I'm looking for!!!
I'm going to keep watching, but if you see any better deals for 100+ Gigs and under $80... Please Post it here!

I can't afford it right now, but when December comes I probably CAN!

Hmmm... maybe I was wrong on the $120 price tag for the 256, I see the 128's going for $109. Sorry... But Christmas is right around the corner, maybe they'll drop some.

As far as games go, I love mine. I'm usually one of the first people on the map for BF3. It loads FAST!! I seriously wanna try them in a Raid.

I hate to say this Boo, but you need a bigger drive for what you are doing. I have a 256 G and it's just about right. I wish it was a bit bigger!!.

They are coming down and fast. I would hold out for a 256. Sell some of your treasure! ":O}

I wish I could get a bigger drive, but right now I don't even have $$ for a $80.00 drive.
Most of my gaming computers have around 150 Gigs. That is plenty of space for my LAN Games.

My Linux machine is really for temporary games. I install it, create a tutorial and play it for a few hours to make sure it actually run consistantly. Then I uninstall it

I took another look and I'm doing better space wise than I thought. I have eight games installed or there abouts, I'm on the wrong drive right now, and around a hundred gig left. on my 256 ssd.

Your plan sounds good, a fast temporary drive and standard storage.

I lost Borderlands BTW, I did a restore and now Securom owns it. Securom shows up on the games I bought that Steam installs as well, even though I have the Disks. They don't say, Hey we need your product code again, that just take away your game.

Boderlands requires a big investment in acquiring weapons and cash to buy weapons. Until you have, not much happens in the game.

So I'd be looking at around 20-30 hours to get back to where I was... I don't think I will. Even If I did, I'd have to buy a Steam free copy or I'd just get shafted again!

Yeah, Consider Borderlands a LOSS! REally sucks because it worked on my Mint 13.

The reason I want a Solid State is because of new technology. I've been reading about then and really need to use one. Of course I won't mind the speed and less heat/noise either.

For now it will be part of my Experiences with Linux Mint 13 on modern hardware.

I could easily buy a Terabyte drive for $70 but I really want a Solid State.

I want to prove that Linux can hold-its-own in the gaming world and unfortunately requires modern hardware for games to truly run well.

At some point I will try installing Mint on my older computers and start installing games. We'll see if I get the same results or completely different ones.
