Samsung PC2700

Bang for the buck, I think a lot of people think these are excellent DDR for overclocking. I've heard originals are usually much better that 3rd party PCBs. Is this true?

Also, I usually buy from Newegg, but they seem a bit pricey on this. Anyone know any reputable etailers selling samsung originals at a low price?

I think you have to pay real $ for the SEC PC-2700 or Samsung PC-2700 chips on Thirds. Seems that some people are not singing the praises of this RAM, btw. Dunno if it's the mobo's or the DIMMS. Perhaps the Jedec Standard for PC-2700 isn't quite set in stone?

I just upgraded my system and I am thrilled with my Samsung 2700. It runs rock stable at 188 with the fastest timings. I bought mine from newegg and saw they had CLT and DLT together.

So be careful if you order from them!

I got mine here then spent the exta 5 bucks and got the TT heat spreader, works fine for me I had no problem hitting 160FSB using it and a Soyo Dragon Platinium.

My Crucial PC2100 has been @ 173x9 with mem timings maxed out.

Just wondering.

Absolutely nothing wrong with my crucials. Very happy with them. I'm still working on upgrading machines, so when I do, I can swap out the crucials and send it "down the line", and get me new memory. I had to downgrade myself from 512 to 256, for my son's machine. Slowly replacing machines in my house from SDR to DDR.

My crucials need +.4v to do 333 so if possible, I'd like some memory that could do it without the extra juice... Hopefully it would give me more potential headroom, too.

Is it, Crucial PC2700 you have to up the v ? or the PC2100 ?

Because I was meaning to say was to try the Crucial PC2700, if you get it from them then you know it's from them, not 3rd 's, can you dig it :-D

OIC.. That's a great idea. I thought about that but they only have 256meg PC2700, and I think it's overpriced. I would prefer a single 512 stick. I'll probably wait at least a couple of weeks, and a lot could happen.

Also, I'm not confident my 2100's will run very long at 2.9v... just a little nervous about the long haul.
