CRT vs LCD

Hi Guys !!!
I have a decision to make that I think you all might be able to help
me out with. My good ol' CRT is on its last leg and in need of replacement. Perfect opportunity to upgrade to a 22" CRT or a 18" LCD (bigger if within budget).
I use my PC primarily for gaming, what's the best choice? I'm looking for the nicest picture quality I can afford (< $600)
Any opinions?

LCD monitors arent at the point yet where they are good for gaming. The refresh rates just suck, you will most likeley (unless its a $2000 lcd) get the "ghosting" effect in games.
For games nothing can beat a sony triniton flat screen crt

actually, some of the newer lcd's have a delay of less then 25ms, which means most everything is playable...if it's mostly games though, i would go with a big flat panel crt.

Yup, went down to CompUSA just to check 'em out, and it looks like CRT is the way to go (with the exception of an LCD I saw hooked to an apple that was AWESOME, and yes, so was the price---around 3000$)
So it looks like there will be a black behemoth on my desk soon !!!

As always, thanks for the replies
