Need help with my mouse
I have a Microsoft Itellimouse Optical. It is the Blue mouse one. Whenever I turn my pc off my mouse stays lit up and it doesn't go off. Is there a way to make it turn off when the computer turns off. I looked throught the BIOS and I didn't see anythng that would do it. I am also running Windows XP if that helps. Thanks

1) If its wireless, pull out a battery or all of them
2) If it has the wire, pull it out of the computer

Sorry but thats the best I can think of right now! I think mine turns off after a while of inactivity.

thats what I have been doing but why won't it turn off when the computer is off?

If you turn off the PSU with the switch on its back then the mouse should turn off after a few seconds (if its wired).

It doesn't turn off, as the USB is still supplied with power. This is to allow a USB device to wake up the computer when it is turned off (like a USB modem or similar)

There may be nothing you can do about it, depending on the mouse drivers. Some mouse drivers can shut the mouse off when the PC shuts down. Others don't bother.

Side note : could you remove the image from your sig please? its not allowed on the forums since it makes life hard for 56k users, folding team members can display the FAH badge, but thats it. Sorry

What Mobo you got? I've got an 8K3A+ and an Optical Intellimouse. The light never goes off whe the PC shuts down. I wrote to Epox Tech and explained to them the sitiation. They replied the same day (ecxellent!) and said it was somthing to do with the 5V line staying live, or somehting like that. Anyway, its no biggie, won't harm the mouse. If you are concerned, just turn the power off at the wall socket when you are done.
BIOS updates dont help either, I've tried!
