I had to take the mobo out since I missed a screw and need to put in the ram here some pics. The ram looks really nice. I think it will go well with the PC especially next to the Blue Main ATX poer cord (the ran out of orange ones).
Edit I know the pic quality isn't good but they were two big so I made the res lower so I could put them on the internet.

Uh oh..shouldn't have gotten 4*512MB sticks dude..I think there's still some things you must learn before you start dishing out that much cash. When you run 4*512MB sticks on an Athlon 64 based system the memory controller (that's built into the processor) can't handle that many DIMMs. In order to compensate for this it runs the sticks at a 2T command rate. This is unfortunate because there is no way around it and you get a pretty hefty performance decrease when this happens. Next time..

If not I can sell one pair and get a 1GB stick. and I though they resloved that with DDR? mabey I'm getting confused.

madcatmk3 8th October, 2005 12:16 AM

which contoller I'm getting really confused.

Exile69 8th October, 2005 01:19 AM

No. The memory controller is located on the processor itself. That small $400 thing with the AMD sticker on it. No matter what board is used socket 939 processors can only handle 4GB of RAM maximum. With the new cores the can handle 4 sticks of RAM at 2T command, which takes a big hit on performance.

robbie 8th October, 2005 02:23 AM

I think you need a few more USB ports on that mobo!! :)

captaincurran 8th October, 2005 04:07 AM

excuse me for being newbish but what are those smaller pci looking slots for?
