Who likes trackballs?
Just wondering if any among us besides me uses a trackball instead of a rodent? ;)

I love 'em - less hand/wrist fatique and they can be quicker & more precise than a mouse. I had used the Kensington TurboBall for some years until it wore out, then wanted to go with an optical unit to avoid the typical cleaning routine of mechanical balls.

So I recently picked up the Kens. Orbit Optical. Doesn't fit as well for me as the old TurboBall, and there's no scroll wheel. :( Might have to try the Kens. Expert, but it's around $100. instead of the Orbit's $30.

A friend of mine uses a logitech one, I have tried using it, but due to the "special" shape of my thumb, I couldn't really use it too well :/

I think I can be accurate enough with my rodent :)

I have been using Logitech trackballs since 1995. I can use a mouse, but not for gaming. and I agree, the older Logitech Trackman was larger and fit better than the new style.

I picked up a Logitech Trackman Wheel last year that had a lot of good reviews. It includes wheel and Lt-Rt buttons. The ball is optical and it seems to work pretty well, but it's hard to set aside my years of mousing :).

I am an old mouser with cordless kb as well. Logitech user for many years.
the track ball is cool but not made for lefties. some newer 'rodents' come
with extra buttons the get in the way.

Rofl. I have no doubt :P

<makes a personal note to shake dan's hand>

I'm a long term mouser, and long time Logitech owner. Bought some of their earlier stuff, then an MX700, which has only just failed (battery contacts are loose after a few drops).

Its interesting to consider a trackball after all this time, but I'm leaning towards a Logitech G7 mouse with the cartridge loading hot swap batteries. Very cool invention.

I use a switch box and going wireless starts to get involved for me financially. The trackman marble FX (has a tail) is what I've been using the last three or so years.

I haven't used a trackball in an eon or three, because I always develop tendonitis in my thumb when I use one. Something abou the way I hold my thumb....

Probably best to move around and relive one thing and another by doing so....but I'm to lazy...

To my great relief! I was afraid I might be all alone in my sloth!
