SSD caching

Anyone using an SSD cache?

I was thinking this could work best for me. I have about 2TB of photos, so putting the lot on SSDs isn't going to happen.

But, if I have a 3TB hard drive and a 64GB SSD cache, then I guess I will see a speed increase no matter which photos I am editing, etc.

To be honest, I suspect you might be better off separating your data from the rest of your system and using an SSD to speed up your system. You're still going to have the bottleneck of hitting the hard disk each time you want to read/write photo data.

Note that some of the SSD cache software don't support the use of hard disks larger than 2GB or RAID (Corsair for example - see for limitations)

OK, so 2TB is not really enough.

Er, I meant 2TB, not 2GB! Sorry.
