I bought my Christmas gift. Vidcard!

I had a GF2 GTS-V in the A Box until yesterday. It rated 3006 D-Marks in 2001SE. It did a decent job in the old games I have, yet it couldn't handle today's GPU crunching games very well. As much as I'd like a Ti4200 or a 9500, Santa refused to be that generous.

I put a Gainward GF3 Ti200 in the box, what a difference. 7666 D-Marks in 32-Bit @1064x768 is a great improvement. I saw all of the tests in 3DMark2001SE for the first time. The "Nature" test is great! Now I can send my brother the power hogging heat monster Elsa GF256. Hate to see it go. Yeah, right.

Thanks, Daniel ~! My younger brother has a TNT2 Vanta, with a whopping 8 Mb of memory. A GF 256 is mighty old hat nowadays, but it'll beat the crud out of the Vanta!

I sent my Hercules TNT2 Ultra (32Mb) down to my father in a swap between my father and my brother. It was one of the last cards that the original Hercules made before going under. It's still going strong 4 years later. Oddly enough, my father is happy, as most of his games are all 2D in nature. The TNT2 Ultra is faster in these 2D games than the Geforce 2 GTS is!

All in all, everyone is still happy. My bro does pretty well with a GF2 GTS, and is waiting until he gets some games that really don't run well with just a GF2 GTS before upgrading.

Ya know, the GF 256 only outperformed TNT2 Ultra's by ~10%.
I had a Diamond V330 4 Mb Vidcard many moons ago. For a 4 Mb card, it absolutely kicked butt. Tomb Raider looked great! Anyone see the pic of the woman that the original Lara Croft was modelled after? Holy eyeballs, Batboy! The movie Lara Croft didn't hold a candle to her.
