Gf4ti4800??????

is this the FX series GPU or just another step in the TI series of the GF4's?? I was wondering because I didn't even hear about this at al until I recently looked at the www.pricewatch.com website and noticed a link for them....very wierd....because the nVidia site doesn't even mention a Ti4800SE series card, yet it's out there, lol....anybody have some word on this?? Also, have there been any benchmarks on any sites in regards to this series of cards?? thanks....

How could I have been so wrong.

I did some checking and found that the 4800 is not an 8x AGP version of the 4200. Check out the story here.

well....after your reply I decided to do some snoopin of my own and came upon this....a GF4 TI4800 Article have fun readin.....doesn't seem too great to me....I'll probably just wait til the FX series GPU comes out and see if that's really worth it....prices r expected to be more than double that of the current 4600 prices....very ridiculous, but we'll see if it's indeed worth it...lol

I really don't believe that the GF FX will cost $699 when they are reseased. The GF3's were suposed to cost that much and everybody balked. Then the price came down to $399 at launch and everybody thought they were getting a pretty good deal.

I don't know where you are getting your prices for the 4600, but I have them running at around $250, which means that the FX series chips would be around $500 based on my estimates....This is still pretty high....I don't really think it'll be worth it, simply because the ATI 9700 Pro and the Ti4600 is more than enough for the games of today and of the future....atleast for a little while....I probably will not be upgrading my video card for atleast a year, lol....I would say a few years, but knowing me, I always want to get one of the best....so I will probably end up buyin the FX series cards after they get down to around $160 or so.....
