Yeah but the R350 will have 8 by 2 texture per pass so that makes it a bit faster. Also I seen some pages that the R350 will be 40% faster. There has been a lot of talk about specs in futuremark community so if you want to go there.

yeah...i just wish these werent all rumours....i dont really trust the inquirer.....ive heard many sources say 375/700 but there are conflicting voices on 8x2 and the 40% faster imho is not happening

If he needs a card right now that is a great card for AA and Aniso for gaming and is a pretty good deal then I would recommend a 9700 non pro and then oc it. If he has a bad case of needing to catch up with the joneses, then the OCSystems 9700Pro is effectively the fastest card we have seen so far. But if he has patience he should wait for R350, see how it performs and see how the price compares to this Level III SE

Since I also read the r350 will be 40% faster and its coming sometime in april, I think i'll take your guys advice and wait and see what the benchmarks are on it before I blow $460+ on the lvl lll. Thanks for all your replys people. I would be fine using my sapphire 9500 np if the softmod didn't give me tons of artifacts ![]() Again guys, thanks for all the feedback |

The speeds attained on a review sample may in fact translate to their production modded cards, which aren't simply overclocked their obviously volt modded etc. However, I'd be apprehensive to own a card, which is being pushed to it's absolute maximum. Unless their spec'ing memory faster then Samsung 2.8ns (doubt it) and merely overclocking A-cores from ATI, I'd be concerned about failure, and even artifacts when the dang thing heat's up to a certain level. I admire their making available a card of this caliber, although I think it's important to understand exactly what your getting yourself into. And to be honest, I'm not sure how long OCSsytems will be in business to back a warranty. I'd buy a Retail ATI 9700 Pro, and put my own fan and ramsinks on it. In this way you have full control over the the process, and can of course overclock the card prior to modding it, to ensure you've found a cherry picked example. If not, at least you can RMA or return it and ask for another until you find a primo overclocker, then attach ram-sinks, and HSF. |
