9500 softmod troubles I'm having trouble softmodding my 9500. I've tried both the riva and wizzard hacks and it doesn't seem to be working. I'm running the latest 3.1 Cat drivers. Everything works fine with those drivers. The 3.1 Cat drivers install into 2 directories that I know of 1. C:\ati\ ... and also 2. C:\program files\ati technologies WIZARD: both of these folders have the directory 2KXP_INF\BX_xxx, now i've put the hacked wizzard file into this BOTH directories and I've also deleated both of the old ati2mtag.sy files. Everything seems right to me here, So... I went to go update the driver in device manager and tried both 2kxp folders. Neither ati2mtag.sy or anyother file could be used as a driver. I also did a search on the C drive for more ati2mtag files and I've located a few other folders with this file in it: 1. C:\windows\system32\drivers 2. C:\windows\system32\backupdrivers **** (not sure of exactally the name) I did the exact same thing to these files and replaced all ati2mtag files with the hacked files. I tried testing in 3Dmark03 and I'm still getting the same results as the unmodded 9500. I've tested the fillrate and still nothing... tried looking under the system setings in 3dmark and suprisingly it shows that I'm using a different driver file! i believe that it's: ati2d**.dl and it's not the ati2mtag file. Isn't the driver file supposed to be an .inf file? Well no luck with the wizzard mod. Can anyone help me on this? maybe I must have missed something during the replacement process. Rivatuner: Once again using the original 3.1 Cat drivers I've loaded up rivatuner. Opened up the patchscript and selected any folder with the ati2mtag file in it. Every single file was patched correctly it said... So, I went to test on 3DMark03 and still no results!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I've read around that it might be helpful to remove all previous drivers and perform a clean install for the 3.1 drivers. (I had the previous 3.0 drivers installed). 1. Where is exactally the folder for the driver file ati2mtag? 2. Why does the ati driver installer install onto 2 separate folders? 3. Why does 3DMark03 show a different driver file being used by my radeon 9500 video card? any help would be very appreciated! system specs: 2100+ @ 2600+ 160x13 2.1ghz Epox 8rda+ Cpu temp: 38C / System temp: 24C 512mb pc2700 cas2.5 OCZ Sapphire Radeon 9500 128mb 80gb Maxtor 7200 Windows XP pro
