Question SB Live! Player 5.1 or onboard?
Hi,
What do you think, I've to use the SB Live! Player 5.1 or the 8RDA+ on board sound card? Which will provide the best sound quality?

I found the onboard to be superior.

Especially the Nvidia controll panel.

On my Asus A7V333, I just went from the onboard to use my old Live! card instead, because I recently got speakers with digital in - and there is no digital out on the onboard sound, but there is on the Live! card.

Well, I'm using an old, but still very good Sansui AU-5500 amplifier, and a set ofBose Acoustimass III speaker.

I got me a nice pair of Creative Inspire 2800. They are great, and the bass is superb...

I was thinking something similar for the DVD system, even if I would upgrade the Bose Acoustimass to 5+1 (now 2+1).

the on board sound is really much better than the SB Live! 5.1.
