Problems with 9700 pro

i have just got it, it is like saphire 9700 pro (2 types mine is the mone with plastic blac fan and heatsink) i am having some worries tho, after running 3d mark 2001 i am only getting 13k with a 2100xp processor clocked @ 13*166, also when running 3d mark 2001 i am getting major jerking problems in the fill rate tests and point sprite tests, please has any1 got any advice for me? (btw running 3.2 catylst drivers) and 512 pc3200 ram

13k is respectable for a stock 9700pro with your processor... try setting everything to performance settings in the display properties... you may get closer to 14k

hmm well i got 15,800 with a 2100@ 11.5*200 using new drivers which were sposed to correspond to 9800 drivers, but unfortunately altho 3d nmark run no games with q3 engine will =( so i am gonbna role back drivers and will post results.

well i got 900 3d marks O_O with my voodoo 5 5500 with a celeron 700, i seem to be lacking there i was using 3dmark2001 as i dont think there are dx9 drivers for voodoo5 yet :*(

What card did you have B4 this one?

i had a geforce 3 and a 1.4 ghz athlon.....got 6k in 3d mark 2001

Did you do a format, or try and get rid of all the NV files?

I do NOT think a format is necessarily needed ( some folks do), but I do think ( from reading MANY posts at forums) that NV files usually cause major problems when running an ATi card....... most of the problems I have seen stem from driver files that are left behind from an uninstall of the NV card.

sup yeah i mnged to fix the prob thnx for all the help tho, also put my cpu core up to 1.7 volts running at 1.744 tho :S (prob cheap PSU) @ 195*12 =2341 also fixed AGP to 60 mhz put card to 350/330 got like 16500 in 3d mark 2001 and 5201 in 3d mark 2003, bit dodgy at that high GPU speeds tho saw sum artifacts on 2k3, so set agp to 70mhz and didnt overclock gfx card, runs completely stable 50 degress at work 41 idle, now gets 16k in 2001, any1 will me on to push even harder :P?
