I deleted the .bmp and reuploaded as a .jpg

I really have enloyed my LVD-2001 standalone but the ability to network a DVD player would be very welcome.

I can access all my drives over my lan, don't have a DVD on my boxes, is there something special that prevents your accessing it?

For those who are unfamilar with Lite-On's standalone DVD players they actually have a computer DVD player and run on Linux and the firmware can be flashed.

Yeah, uClinux-2.4 with kernel 2.4.17-uc0

Couldn't find their modifications however, so I hope they (sigma designs) are not in breech of the GNU license.

Shame that Liteon only provide a Nero format upgrade. ISO would have been more widely usable!

I read a couple of posts that a couple of people were disappointed that you had to use Nero to flash the firmware. I thought about it and came to the conclusion that the majority of people who would flash probably were familar with Nero so it was not a major issue.

I just upgraded my lvd-2001 to the latest (and final release) 3.02 firmware dated 3.10.2004.

Personally, I don't have a copy of Nero. I've got CDR-Win and Discjuggler as well as other cdrecord and cdroast. An ISO file would have been so much more compatible with any platform!

I guess it seems a little odd that they provide a Linux image in a format that requires Win32 to burn!

For those who do not have Nero and need to upgrade a Lite-On standalone you can go to http://www.nero.com/us/nero6-ultraedition.php and download a time limited free demo. If I remember correctly, Alcohol 120% burns Nero images too.
