Whoa..
For a 9800 w/ 3dm01, your score really sux... (no offense.) I think you should get significantly better. All your other HW should not impact your score by more than 1000-2000 points or so... That leaves you a few thousand short of normal for your card. For the quickest gains in BMs, look around for the most up to date video drivers. From worst to best, you could see a 15-30% gain.

Also, is your CPU a tbred B? if it is, save your money, and oc your present CPU (just get a better HSF first). Also, upping your memory speed will give you a boost, but will not be more than a 200-400 points. Your mobo has no PCI lock, and only a 1/5 divider so you will most likely not be able to take full advantage of PC3200.

In case you missed it... even if you get a 2800+, you still have to dump your HSF. I can guarantee you that you will have major heat problems with that V7... I had one, it barely cooled an 1,800mhz CPU I had.

Usually the stock retail HSF is barely adequate to keep from overheating. I would rank the V7 as slightly better than stock (at least compared to older stock). I don't know if they are using a better HS for the fastest socket A cpus now.

Give both a shot and see if one performs better...
Regarding your scores.... See what happens after the upgrade. I don't expect to see a 4000 point gain, but you never know.

Also, before you run the benchmark, make sure you don't have anything running in the background, stealing mem bandwidth or CPU cycles.

3dmark2k1 scores very well with high FSB. If that XP2100 is a "B" you can lower the multiplier & RAMP UP THAT FSB! pc-3200 if its a decent brand assures a 200 FSB+ providing the cpu is unlocked & you can lower the multi.

If you're running only a 133 FSB your scores won't get very high.

An unlocked XP2100 "B" with an nforce2 motherboard is better then running a LOCKED XP2600 (XP2600 would be a waste of money and inferior)
