| I just got a x800 pro as a test piece which has gone on, just reading up in custom pc mag and they reackon that the 6800gt is as quick as the x800 pro at default clocks which are lower on the nvidia but when clocked are higher than the ati card??? also that the nvidia is pixel shader 3 (dx9 c)compliant are the x.00's not |

| the 6800 reigns supreme right now...unless you enable AA/AF @ higher resolutions. really tho, i had some words @ fragapolooza with the gigabyte rep...wait for thier 6800..higher speeds than stack and a lof profile heatsink...the stock 6800 will take 2 pci slots. the x800 Platunum with 16 pipes is the FASTEST card period...but low low chip yeild have led to a price exceeding 1300 US if you want one right right now. personally i bought a 9800pro that i knew was and under volted XT and flashed the XT bios @ lower than stock XT speeds to the card.....my $500 card now performs like a $800 card.... but if you really are smart you'll wait until september when all the new stuff come out and you'll get a pci-x card that WILL be faster than agp for a lower price than agp as september is when the push is to begin. As well, there is a big firmware update coming for pci-x that will start to use the 16x pci-x that will give the faster perormance that the current 4x/8x/12x pci-x gives

| i'd agree on that one let us know how it goes....should be ok, but with the low yeilds that the y have been having, i think not all will work. But who knows...3 weeks is a lot of time to make some chips.
