Question Replacing NVIDIA with ATI order of upgrade.

Thanks to all who replied with the driver info

Ok, this may sound dumb regarding swapping the cards but from what I can gather remnants of NVIDIA drivers can cause all sorts of problem when installing a new ATI card.

So what's the order of service?

1. Boot up pc
2. In control panel remove the Nvidia drivers.
3. Reboot pc and run Driver Cleaner 3.2 ?
4. Shut down pc and remove NVIDIA card ?
5. Stuff in the Radeon card
6. Reboot and install the ATI drivers
7. Play Doom 3

Should this list be followed
1.2.3.4.5.6.7
or
1.2.4.3.5.6.7&7&7&7&7

I have an EPOX 8rda+ (nforce2) will the driver cleaner knacker my other NVIDIA drivers?
Will I have to reinstall these?

All help and advice much appreciated.

Cheers.

from your desktop..uninstall drivers, and a control panel listing if there is one. reboot, and upon default driver being installed, install your driver.

if switching manufacturers, remove the driver, use driver cleaner, power off, replace card, and power back on...let windows install it's driver, then install your own.

this applies to ANY HARDWARE CHANGE...but is not nessecary for drives, memory and cpu's(although if you go amd-p4...mobo is changed anyway)
