can you give me the compare link to your 3dmark 01 and 03 scores please. its pretty easy to tell what the problem is by looking at individual results game by game in futuremark ORB.

if i were you i would return my video card to stock clockspeed as well. dont change drivers / screw around with an OC running. even at stock speed it should be hitting 13,000 3dmarks in 01 and up to 18k overclocked

*edit*

Just so you can see, this is my old system running a 2400+ at 166x12.5 (same as you) 512mb of pc2700 (same) running a KT333 mobo and a much slower video card (TI4600)

Somewhere along the line you have left the handbrake on.

check these things in bios:
make sure:
1. pci / VGA palette snoop is off (major speed killer)
2. Spread spectrum is off (major speed killer)
3. Memory ECC check is off
4. Fast writes are enabled (major speed killer)
5. L2 cache ECC checking is off
6. AGP master 1 WS read and write are both off
7. PCI master 0 WS write is enabled

in the video driver for benchmarking purposes at least keep anti-aliasing off, anisotropic filtering off and the quality slider to "high performance" as benching is a matter of pure speed not quality.

8. enable sideband addressing
9. enable AGP fast writes
10. ensure AGP is functioning at full 8X mode (check these settings in sisoft sandra or in driver)

use detonator destroyer or an equivilant to remove all drivers before reinstalling (most people are too lazy to install drivers the right way)

check your nvidia chipset drivers and install the latest version (or reinstall current if its the latest)

Lastly dont overclock yet. though AOA is all about overclocking it is important to be running at peak performance at STOCK settings before pushing a system while its still learning to walk. overclocking WILL reduce performance in some cases in poorly tuned machines (at least on video cards)

k, i did a couple of things and heres what i got on 3dm2k1

http://service.futuremark.com/servle...orb/createuser

on 3dm2k3 it said i had an illegal cdkey so my score is 5183 same settings as 3dm2k1
all this with the stock speeds and no drivers or anything in the bios were messed with.

all i did was turn off antialiasing and anisotropic off, i had the at 2xQ and 4x

im not sure what bios your using award or ami but i know for award at least, most of those settings are in advanced bios settings consult your manual to find them and they should be there.

your 13k score is alot better but you should be pushing 16k. your nature score is well below par so it sounds like a driver / 3dcard specific problem. 5x.xx drivers will give a better score for 3dmark 01 so try the 44.03s for it and performance will pick up.

dont overclock until you have done as much as possible tuning it at stock speeds, then crank it up good luck

Well, since you started this thread saying you get BSODs in games, I wouldn"t worry about your 3dMark scores fro now. Instead, I would check the ram with something like memtest86 or Prime95. Just my 0.02$

I'd still check my RAM, just to avoid further problems in the future, no biggie.
