Agp 8x

I have an Abit KV7, it is AGP 8X which means it works with AGP 8x and 4x cards. Does this mean it is not compatible with AGP 2x cards???

I have an old AGP2x card that will be homeless unless I can use it there. Does AGP 8x compatibility preclude the use of 2x cards?

I think some agp 4/8X cards work in 2X slots, but I don't think you can do it the other way round because the card will try and draw a higher voltage than the slot provides
someone correct me if i'm mistaken though

Yes, be very careful with voltages!

most 8x/4x only will say in the namual..some even have led's to notify you should the card be incompatible. By looking at the site, i would almost say 100% you are S.O.L.
