Hope that won't be yet another card that needs to be upgraded every year. More accurate physics, more comprehensive physics, Newtonian Vs Quantum Vs ... physics -- aaargh! (Chaos theory probably fits in there somewhere too )

Hopefully not. Apparently, the chip could be integrated on to motherboards. If they go down that road it would hopefully lower the overall cost as well.

I think they will have to sell a load of this first version before considering a new version.

The price isn't so bad for something 'new out', I guess the price will drop in time.

Who thinks this is a passing thing and that Video cards manufactures will begin to incorporate a "P." chip in their cards...or is there more to this than that?

I do thinks it's future is to be integrated, bandiwdthwise it would make the most sense to be on the graphics card so they can share 3d information with each other without loading up the bus

It's all about passing the load, and heat, off of the vidcard, rightnow. Otherwise, instead of the current tech from ATI, for example, would jsut put two gpu's on a board, like some of the nvidia solutions. But when you can only draw 75w of power through the pci-e slot, and that 75w is only enough for the memory, pretty much, in 512mb and up configs,...how do you power that additional load? another molex connector, and raise power requirements, or another pci-e slot, that can supply 75w. If you look at the pics of the sapphire board i posted, there is another "16x" pci-e connector, behind the sound panel. I'm pretty sure that this was intergrated for one of these cards....
