This is a very, very old thread that wore out its usefulness a year or so ago. It was to fix a disparity in the drivers that creative ended up fixing themselves a long time back. This is almost a THREE YEAR OLD driver. At this late stage it will likely do more harm than good. Thanks for reminding me about this thread though, I made an edit to the original post that I should have made a while (or a couple of years) ago. At the time it was posted the mod was very good and did alot. Now its just going to cause trouble given its age. People sometimes don't date check things before they use them.

![]() Yea I saw the original date of the post, but you have to keep in mind my Audigy card is from 2001 (7 years old) so I figured why not give it a try on this old card. ![]() But yea, I download the latest driver for my Audigy card and that's dated 2006 so if fairly new considering the age of my card. ![]() As I said, no harm done and it was "my" time to waste and I wasn't complaining...just sayin... ![]()

I very much doubt it now, I think this is a very, very old thread that likely doesn't work at all anymore.

![]() Funny how this OLD Thread keeps getting dug back up huh diso! LOL ![]() Seems I wasn't the only one to see this that was using an old Soundblaster Audigy card! This just goes to show how good creative products are because they last a very, very long time...my old Creative card is now almost 9 years old & still works perfectly fine. I'm using it in my other old backup computer system. ![]()

The PAX drivers are still being updated - look at driverheaven. The Daniel K drivers (originally posted on the Creative groups) work - look for SBAX_PCDVT_LB_2_15_0004EQ - works with Vista. Under Vista you need to use the native mixer (right click on the task bar speaker item to get there) - none of the Creative drivers adaptations seem to be able to bring the Creative mixer back. The kx project (also hosted on driver heaven) does provide a working mixer with a rather different interface style. Please note all the above rely on Creative cards with a DSP - the EMU10k something. Value ranges and USB cards generally do the work in software and use different drivers - you can check your card on wikipedia Sound Blaster - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I hid my Audigy when the music police were rounding them all up.! ![]() Does any one know where those darn sound police are at now? I thought they had died out with K.C. and the Sunshine Band! ![]()
