Sounds good. Tell us when you get it and we'll talk you through some tuning. Those LEs have a hell of a lot of potential.

Some brands of card also have greater chances of unlocking it seems, there is a site that lists a success rate for each brand based on data from their site users, its one of the tech support sites I think, ill try and find it.

You cant go wrong with leadtek though, very solid cards and even if you dont get a full unlock they seems to overclock very well especially on the memory.

Please post the address if you find out! My card is going to be the same as the old one regarding the producer and that is Palit Daytona.

Yeh i managed to unlock all pipes on a Leadtek 6800LE. It's great, no artifacts or anything. If you like AA and AF then this card will crank upto full AA and AF on most games without seeing a performance hit. It kills BF2 at full AA and AF though, well it did on my demo anyways.

Just remember to unlock 1 quad at a time and test thoroughly. Once you have them all unlocked (hopefully!) you can then proceed to overclock the card. Core first then memory otherwise you hit a wall and the card just resets back to stock speeds. i can get an extra 100mhz out of my memory without seeing much temp increase and 70mhz on the core maximum. Every card is different though!

Oh and another perculiar thing i noticed is, if you use rivatuner to change the graphics adapter identification to GT and do a fresh driver install you get a performance increase. not sure exactly how much this is but i noticed a definate increase in speed.

Yes it is weird that! Maybe it's how the drivers are installed? I have no idea how it works i just noticed an increase in performance by changing the ID. Try it yourself, can't hurt! If it doesn't work it doesn't work but it definately worked for me!

The same window where you go to unlock the pipelines.

Click custom in the drop down boxthen use the up button to cycle to 45 which is the 6800GT.

duh, having a blonde moment.
well I changed it and I now have a 6800gt, I get no real gains....30 points in aquamark but thats within the margin of reasonable error.
It does make the auto detect in the overclocking settings tab more accurate though it detects 400/880 now(i run 410/900), it used to detect 340/760

So you mean I should just enable pixel unit 3 (I took Monkeyman pic as an example) and then I should do a complete test. Then next pixel unit and then vertex. What is more important a vertex unit or a pixel unit? How many are shut down in my case?

Unlocking the pixel quad will give a lot more performance gain than the vertex shader.

Most games are pixel shader limitted at present, and even when a situation is vertex limitted, it's not usually to the point of affecting playability like when you are fillrate limitted
