Putting a Peltier on my AGP 6600GT

Hi I've got a spare peltier (TEC) I think around 40 watt laying around. And want to put it between my Zalman VF700-cu and my AGP 6600GT of coarse with a bit of modding. Do you think it will have enough power to cool it?

Why is Phonetic not spelt Phonetically, and why is the word Abbreviation so long?

My Ex gives 100% sound adivce, 99% sound, 1% adivce.

Id say 40 watts is a bit low, I dont know much about the subject but I would think you would want 120w+

40W sounds about right for a 6600GT. If you used a 120+W then you would have bad condensation problems. Give it a shot.

It seems 80w is pretty standard for a watercooled gpu, so(My previous guess of 120W was on a hangover morning)40w would seem sensible on air. Do let us know how well it works!

Go for it. I'd love to see the results. Peltiers fasciante me, but they are extremely difficult to work with.
The Macs peltier for Athlon 64 is one example of a TEC which doesnt supply enough current and therefore has poor cooling. The current level is essential....but seeing as a 6600GT probably doesn't produce the same amount of heat, a lower powered TEC may be well suited.

I'm going to say no. My 80W tec overheated massivly on my 6800GT, I know its hotter, but its also 80W and watercooled. Once the card began to heat up(idle was 25oC) it went up to 50-60. This caused it to cold throttle, which sucked. 40W on air seems more likely to warm up the case and end up making itself hotter than its worth.

Please feel free to post it and prove me wrong though, I'd like to see it too. I'm out of pelting but it still interests me.
