Is this suitable?

hi all,
i'm considering buying a better heatsink for my new graphics card. The card i have is the PNY Verto 6200A 128mb AGP. I found the Arctic Cooling Rev.2 nVidia 6 (6600 Series) VGA Silencer at OCUK but it says it is for the PCI-E version. Is this cooler suitable for the AGP version that i have (is it the correct size)? Or should i find another one? I just want something with a fan so i can overclock it. The GPU core tends to get to around 55 C during a bit of casual wolf:ET but has reached about 60 C when it's going full out to prove itself worthy . I'm not really worried because the temperature setting in the NVidia control panel is 145C before it alerts me, what should i set this to as that seems way too high. I don't want bubbles and steam forming on the GPU core and causing it to melt itself through the board, and through the bottom of my case now do i .

So any help with the cooler would be appreciated. Or would and Ice chameleon cooler be more suited to this card?

Thanks,
Scott.

Dont bother! anything upto 80c gaming wouldnt worry me, it will auto throttle when it gets too hot anyway.

yeah i know, but i would still prefer a cooler with a fan. I did the 'autotest' thing to find the optimum clock settings, i got about 381/566 at 60hz which is just too flickery for me which is why i use 85hz. It's weird though, the heatsink on the voodoo 3 is about the same as the one on the 6200A! Except the voodoo 3 one is silver and the one on the 6200A is black.

Another question, are there any pipelines that can be unlocked on this card? Or pixel shaders?

Thanks,
scott.

auto detect always sets it to 60hz, setting to 75/85hz will not affect the maximum overclock as far as I know.

Also...Yes it shares the same 8 pipe core as the 6600 so in theory you could be able to unlock the other 4 pipes that your 6200 has masked, use the unlocking guide for the 6800 in the AOA FAQ to have a go.

If you can unlock it then you should se a good performance boost, probably similar to a 5700ultra/5900xt

Actually, it's the 6200A so it isn't based on the 6600. I checked using rivatuner, all pipelines are unlocked!

The settings for it are 4x1, 3vp. So it's completely unlocked at stock level. I may still overclock it though.

it's probably the CPU that's slowing it down so sometime before next january, UPGRADE! Yeah, i kinda decided on getting the DFI LanParty UT NF3 board simply because it's AGP. Plus it's cheaper. Everything else is still the same, except obviously, the graphics card isn't part of the order.
