New Catalyst Drivers.

I just uploaded the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI. Version 5.12, so head to the files section and grab em quik.

- 3DMark2001 SE gains up to 10%
- Aquamark 3 gains up to 16%
- Comanche 4 improves as much as 20%
- Far Cry gains as much as 25% on some product configurations
- Half-Life 2 performance improves as much as 8%
- Splinter Cell improves as much as 8% in certain parts of the game
- Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness runs as much as 10% faster
- Unreal Tournament 2004 framerates improve as much as 10%

ATI doesn't allow people to link directly to the release notes, for reasons known only to ATI. However, you can go here, which is the customer care support page, and follow a link from there to the release notes (if you wait long enough for the page to load, that is; ATI's entire Support site is slow as cold molasses).

Think this'll put the X1800XT a fair bit closer to the GTX? Will further driver releases ever take full advantage of the ring bus and allow it to shoot ahead of the GTX?

they gave my x1800xl 94xx in 3dmark05...and have great visual quality. tested on FEAR, NFS:MW, and battlefeild2 as well as BF2:SF...i love ATI's visual quality.
