Budget SLI cards

EP 8NPA SLI, socket 754 needs two 6600GT cards. what shall I buy?
I think I have narrowed my choices to three. MSI, Chaintech and EVGA.
#1 MSI comes with 6 games + software 6600GTx2=$299.00usd
#2 Chaintech has hs on memory, no games for $255.00usd
#3 EVGA is no frills and $248.00usd.
the list is in order of price as well as personal preference. the games
bundled with the MSI are a good deal. two sets is too many. as much
as I like MSI video cards, I have 5, the extra software isn't necessary.
I have a couple of Chaintech cards and the price seems in order. if I
stay with the 'budget' theme of this build, the EVGA cards cover the
under $250.00usd group quite nicely. BFG @ $385.00usd is well over
my self-imposed limit of $300.00usd. 6800 cards are not in the budget
and not spec'd for the Epox 8NPA SLI.
so, let me know what you think.

Ron

Send a message via MSN to Pitch

I totally agree and you retain the ability to add a second one.

Well, im not so sure about SLI 7800GT's on a 754 platform. I'm pretty sure that would end up becoming a huge bottleneck.

Regardless, if your willing to spend $299, go with the 7GT
