6800 Ultra??

a friend of mine is selling his agp 8x 256 mb evga 6800 ultra...should i buy it from him, would it be a noticable difference from my normal 128 bm evga 6800...i dont have pci express mobo so i think this would be the highest card i could possibly get right now...hes sellin for 200 i think and might give it to me for a lil less it has the same zalman fan that i have on it the 770 or watever it is...would it be worth it?? i dont plan on gettin a new mobo for a while, so thats all im wonderin if its worth the cash or not...

Yea, why not. The Evga is a solid board, and provides very good overclocking possibilities. You could sell your old card for a reasonable sum, to make it a cheap upgrade.

More ram, more pipes, better overclocking, I can go for all of that.

I'm going to say yes.

The 6800U is better than an 850 Pro. SM3.0, its faster in some things, slower in others, but generally better than the 850 pro. With overclocking its a very nice card indeed.

Why take a step backwards? :P

200 what? if its in UK £ maybe a little pricey, but US $ id say go for it, its gonna be one of the better AGP cards to have if you dont plan going PCIe for a while...

There's a petition to bring the 7800GTX to AGP do you think Nvidia will listen?

I hope not. Why take a step backwards when you're trying to push a new technology, i.e PCI-Express?

Is the 6800GS going AGP? I think companies should start forcing chage by only releasing cards in PCI-E, which is what they're doing now.
