Use the NV5. Make sure its a good quality lap job on the NV5 though. I've seen some terrible ones.

Don't bother. I took my GPU HSF to a jewler to have it resurfaced, and he did a fairly good job. First time he was happy to do it for free as an experiment, since then its been $15 a job. Perfect mirror finish.

Engravers also can do it.

Dunno, I picked it up after a week but I assume it took less time.

It really is the best way to go. You can spend ages lapping a HSF, but the jewler can get it as level as technically possible, and polished enough for a true mirror perfection finish.

Did you get some before pics as well?

And is it only the polish or is it being leveled as well? I had mine done to a perfect flat surface before polishing, which really helps.

out of 4 jewlers i went to hes the only who said he could do something with it. i didnt ask him to resurface it b/c i didnt remember that part in one of your previous posts so hes just polishing it. this is the only pic i have of the HS before it went out. i asked him if the polishing would affect how level it was and he said no, so i didnt worry about it. if there are still quite a few machine marks still in it, i will try some of the engravers around town to see what they can do. but right now im really short on time with work and school.

Very nice job. While you've got a good one, get your CPU HSF done too

So many overclockers have problems getting HSFs properly surfaced, and this seams to just work perfectly.

Mate, you think you could get some more pictures, good quality? Might frontpage it.
