old-school SLI

I'm going to ressurect a couple of Diamond Monster Voodoo2 12Mb in SLI in a DFI 440BX mobo. Should I use a Pentium 2 400MHz or my legendary Celeron 300A OC'ed to 450MHz?

the multi on the 300A is locked at x4.5 so I just raise the celly's 66MHz fsb to 100MHz.

default fsb

Celeron 300A - 66
P2 400 - 100

the thing is, I've heard that the celly at 450 eats a P2 for lunch (in games that is) but I'm not quite sure.

Oh mate... I used to have a pair of 12MB Voodoo 2s on an ASUS 440BX with a Celeron 300A @ 450Mhz.

That is the most classic, old school gaming setup possible. God I would love to have one of those again for some Quake 2.

This will destroy my geek status but I still didn't figure out how to post pics in here! I've tried to post pics in another thread and it was quite frustrating.

Here they are, these old puppies were teh shiznit!

The Celly 300A's pic is not very good.

In the mobo shot notice that I'll include an AWE 64 for the ultimate old school experience.

Of course it will run on Win98SE.

First Unreal would be great. And the sequels...and Sin...lots of games run on Glide !

It should really go in an older tower server chasis. Full towers were all the rage back then with heaps of drivebays and room.
