83.90 Nvidia Driver Leaked

Nvidia has leaked another driver, in the form of the 83.90 Forceware driver.

This driver has an .inf modified by Pieter @ LaptopVideo2Go to work with multiple cards, but ONLY of GeForce 6, and GeForce 7 series.

This driver will NOT work with Geforce FX or older cards.

Performance is quite good, the driver is very stable. It does NOT have the new NVidia control panel which is similar to ATI's CCC. This is a good thing really, as the new control panel is extremely buggy, and crashes on a very regular basis.

All display modes are supported, unlike the previous 83.60 driver.

This driver has been optimised further to take advantage of Intel and AMD dual core CPUs. How far that optimisation goes is another question, but they do claim they have made an improvement.

Notes from AOAFiles.com:

Quote:
This is the 83.90 Nvidia Forceware driver set for GeForce 6 and GeForce 7 Video cards ONLY under Windows 2000 / XP. This driver does NOT feature the new control panel, which is a good thing, as it is still too beta to be used. The Image Quality in this driver set on par with the best available. The performance is impressive, with further enhancements being made to take advantage of Dual-Core Pentium D and Athlon X2 CPUs. Stability is of a very good level, and all display modes are present. All in all this is a very tidy driver set with no known issues. Highly Recommended for Nvidia GeForce 6 & 7 Series owners.
This is a nice set all round. Well worth downloading.

Do NOT forget to Driverclean!

Download DriverCleaner Pro from www.drivercleaner.net
1) Uninstall old Nvidia drivers
2) Reboot into safe mode
3) While in safe mode, clean all "nvidia" drivers. This will ONLY clean Nvidia video card drivers, and will not hurt your Nvidia nForce chipset drivers.
4) Reboot into normal mode, and install the new driver set
5) Reboot and you are finished!

6.66, his computer is possessed! We must get rid of the demon! We'll need lots of thermite to be completely sure it is gone!

The "Paradise" setting in farcry seems more pronounced, seem to work very well...

For vid drivers, I'm using this one, but as soon as JR and Daishi do an XG version of this driver, I'll be using that.
