Exclamation 7800GTX as 6800 Ultra on FC4 any problem?

im using my 7800gtx as a 6800 ultra in fedora core 4 x86_64 cuz havin a few prob installing new drivers... 78s aint in list. any risk or probability of damage?

Dude, which driver package are you using? I had my 7300GS running on an Ubuntu live CD, and a Myth TV install and it worked ok. I didn't test 3D, but TBO, you don't use linux for its 3D prowess.

It played Supertux well, which is all the gaming ability it needs

It won't do any damage.

thanx a lot man... i dont play any games at all in dat, just wanted to make sure dat my 2d desktop wont cause any truble for the 3d hardrware. i have no problems on my dekstop as far as visuals are concerned. just that i dont kow how these hardware stuffs work in linux,so had to make sure, that selection wont do any damage. well, thanks once again mate.
