Another What card thread lol

Hi guys

My Girlfriend is looking to upgade her Gfx card as it is getting abit slow she has about £200 to spend whats the best bang for buck she can get I was looking at an BFG OC 7800 GT.

Oh she is currently running a 6600GT (128mb) and the card needs to be PCI-E and will be running on an Nforce4 board so Nvidia would be better.

Cheers

Hmm. Thats about $245 US dollars....

Did 7800GT's drop that low yet? I thought they were still around 270?
Anywho. I own one, its a solid investment....also try to consider the X1800XL.

Or you could take a peak at the 7600GT and the X1800GTO (when its realesed)

X1800XT.

You can get these for about £200 now. It beats the 7800GT hands down.

Totally agree with pitch,X1800XT try overclockers...

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal...k_Only_25.html

They have one for £200 this week only, plus they have one in the ATI/PCIe/X1800 section which is also £200.

Ati's pipeline structure is different, a la AMD/Intel. ATI can do more work, with less.

the lack of pipelines used shows really how fast thier tech is, as addin the some pipes to the ati card to even th score would have nvidia blown out of the water

Think of 4 pipelines as an individual cpu core...nVidia needs more cores, more pixel paths, to do the same work...

ATI is more efficient, with slightly higher quality possible, when drivers are not interfering
