Can't increase resolution on C&C zero hour...

I have a 6800GS and a 17" lcd and both C&C generals and zero hour won't give me the option to increase to resolutions higher than 1024x768. My brother-in-law has a 19" crt and is happily playing at 1280x960! wtf ???

I don't know why, have you tried clicking Custom Graphics?

Anyhoo, having a 17" LCD, the 1024x768 res may be the best res for your screen anyway.....??

You should be able to edit a config file. I had this problem with Battle for Middle Earth.

pumpkin, my LCD's native resolution is 1280x1024 so 1024x768 is not the best for my screen, that would be if it were a 17" CRT.

Heh, I know that. I was thinking that if having to scale, scaling to that res is better than scaling to say a widescreen res.

I think pretty much all LCDs (current models) in 17" are 1280x1024.

There are various types of scaling which can be used when running in lower resolutions. It's not all bad, some will result in lower image quality, others may look just fine.
