Videoseven L19WA 19" Widescreen

I've been looking for a widescreen flat panel, so I can dual-screen and watch TV in bed, for a while now.

What really caught my eye about this particular panel is it's very impressive specs, despite it's incredible low cost of just £110.
Model L19WA
Monitor Type LCD
Picture/Display
Screen Size 19"
Display Area 410 x 257 mm
Response Time 8 (2/6) ms
Contrast Ratio 500:1
Brightness 300 cd/m2
Viewing Angle 150°/130°
Colors 16.2 Mio
Monitor Main
Supporting mou VESA 75 x 75 mm
Picture/Display
Screen Max. Res. 1440 x 900
Frequency Range
Horizontal Frequency 30 - 82 kHz
Vertical Frequency 56 - 76 Hz
Video-Bandwidth 135 Mhz
Interface Provided
Connectors Analog : 15PIN D-SUB
Video Input Type Analog : RGB ANALOG

As you can see, it has an exceptional contrast ratio of 500:1. When I faced my Videoseven against sunlight, I was still able to see it with ease.
I was also impressed with the horizontal viewing angle, as I was able to see a clear image right by the side of the screen.
The response time is also fantastic for such a low price, 8ms ensures this monitor won't fail you in games.

The picture quality, in general, was staggeringly good. It is no match for my high quality glass-fronted AG Neovo E-17, but then again the E-17 17" is a £200 screen, so this is no bad thing.
What surprised me further was how well is coped with films. The snowy scenes in Die Hard 2 were bright and crisp, and the darker action of Jurassic Park 3 was again crisp, and the blacks were really black, something my E-17 struggles a bit with.
The styling of the screen is contemporary, but not to the high standard I've gotten used to with my gorgeous velvety black Neovo. However, it's sweeping silvery lines are no uglier than any other TFT and the simple black stand and easy to use buttons make it ergonomicly very good.

This screen is a stunning buy in my opinion. You can pick them up on eBuyer for around £110 and eBay for around £120. For a 19" flat panel, that price is simply irresisitible and I highly reccomend you go dual screen now, and get yourself this baby.
Do bare in mind this particular model does not come with a DVI output.

I apologise for the lack of original images but as you may know I recently lost my camera.

Its not a bad looking piece of kit by any standards. Does it have DVI though?

No it doesn't. But for me, the difference is not noticeable. Not to my eyes anyway.

I think it is the lack of DVI which gives the low price.

I totally agree. But why spend an extra £50 so you can have DVI? The low price, despite the lack of it, makes it tempting. I believe there is a DVI model - but I'm not sure where it's stocked.

So what kind of affect does the lack of DVI have?

DVI allows longer cable runs, without loss of quality, for projectors etc.

You can get a good quality image on your monitor, using D-SUB analogue, without a doubt. Occasionaly there are quality issues using analogue. With DVI you're pretty much guaranteed a perfect signal/image all the time.

DVI also means the signal is always consistant, meaning you never have to adjust the picture. Set it and forget it.

That's my understanding anyhow!

Looks like a excellent screen for just £110 although i dont like it's styling, Would have looked a lot better without the speakers and the buttons on the side and think bezel like top and left
