Where are you getting your prices from? A GTS in the UK works out at US$700 inc. tax, not more than $900.

The initial prices are what you would expect, given how much new nVidia cards have cost in the past. Prices will fall soon enough. Right now there's little benefit in having a G80 card anyhow.

I mistook the GTs for the GTX. Still, we pay far too much compared to Americans. They get it all far cheaper.

I agree that the prices are quite high, but in terms of benefit I would say that this is the fastest single DX9 video card out right now besides the GTX. If I was in the market to spend a lot on a video card right now I would probably give it serious thought, although some would argue buy something cheap now and wait.
