7900gs worth it??

it a 7900gs worth the extra cost over the 7600GT (£30)
i know usually yes, but i need to buy a card within the next week, and once the dx10 cards come out (8600 series) the 7xxx series will clearly vastly decrease in value

my plan is to buy a 7600gt and then in perhaps 3 months upgrade it to the newer dx10 cards selling, my 7xxx card

is it wise paying more for a card now to sell at a lower price in a few months time, when if u buy a cheaper card now, i will loose less money/less of a risk

ps, it may sound mercenary and little bit mean with money... but I'm poor and this is a big! upgrade for me.
thanks

Looking at reviews and benchmarks, it flies. I was trying to stay in the 7600 price range, but the extra cash might be worth it.

Mine is running at 610/1450 with a pencil-mod, I can get just over 9500 on 3DMARK05.
