Hey Dave I see you posting singles. when do you expect your crossfire card to show up? I am impressed with the cpu power put forth by that Quad 6600 at stock!! Lordy...... I look forward to seeing what liquid cooling will do. Thanks for posting..... Is the bad mounting of the cooling unit on yours a trend in the whole line? Just seems like as much as we pay for these boards and cards that manufacturers would be using AS-5 and would be mounting coolers the way we do when we remount their stuff!.

regular post on second card, no same-day . Lots of time to play with quad's and duo's, 2x6 pin, and tossing in the Enermax DXX 1000w for some 8-pin+6-pin lovin', nevermind mounting up the other boards as well. Gott decide on which parts to use for Vista/DX10 rig!

Overdrive max is 856/900, card easily surpasses this without any artifacting on stock voltage and cooler, fan @ default speeds. There's alot left in these cards...water and such to come too, but I only have one Maze4, ATM...
]
Singlecard scores 21k in '05 w/ duo @ 3.6ghz, 40k in 03, w/ 4gb ram @ pc6400. needed 3750 for that w/ crossfire.

Performance issues abound tho...these cards do not render like earlier ATI parts, so limitations and such are different, and someitmes overclocking isn't the best idea for better performance.

1GB of ddr4 and and 1GHz core clock speed is what the 2900xtx was supposed to be, but despite however many costly spins of silicon later these cards are they just couldnt do it at 80nm.

Apparently the the R650 is going to be a midlife update with the 65nm process and should actually only be a few months away.

All the midrange and low end cards are going straight to 65nm but we've yet to see them appear.

My next card is looking like an nvidia at this rate when my x1900 gives up the ghost (its less than a year old ...)

Don't take all rumours at face value.

Some benches(Vista, Core2Duo @ 3600mhz, 4GB @ PC6400, XBX, 858GPU,900mem 6-pin + 8pin overclocking using CCC):

3DMark06, 12169:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=1976964

3DMark05, 21319:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=3045326

3Dmark03, 41065(would not let me submit due to program hacking jsut to get a score)

PCMark05, 9863:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=880117

AQ3, 188,148:
http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/attac...1&d=1179501947

Results are very close to my max 24/7 CCC scores using X1950Crossfire, and some scores are higher, using 200mhz less cpu. All in all, this is good AND bad...as teh power consumption of this one card rivals my R580 Crossfire set.

i bit the bullet and bought one.... figured im puttin my 1900 on ebay ill get like 150 for that, and just sold my old garmin 510 for 300, so its basically free the way i look at it

i wanna get a 8 pin power supply now though so i can push it to the limit... 6+6 will do it, but i want this thing maxed

cant wait for some good drivers to come out and see these marks scores go up even more

3.2ghz seems to be enough cpu for gaming with X1950XTX and Crossfire cards together...who wants to guess how much cpu 2 HD2900XT's need? Plugging card in right now...

lol. Can't I play a bit?

Actually, second card is Sapphire...and inside the packaging was a "fix" for 3DMark programs(which do ono recognize the card, and therfore won't even start).

So, needing the fix, I followed the directions(keep in mind my 3DMarks are already hacked so I can get a score, but I'd like things not "hacked"), and here I sit, awaiting the download to start. For a 34k file, you'd think it would be done by now...

Sapphire card includes a full copy of 3DMark06(my favorite game, lol), some other useless software(PowerDVD, etc, each a free download), and my fourth "coupon" for a Valve product(2 for HL1 when it came out, 2 for HL2, EP2), and a bevy of cabling and adapters...

Still on Vista and XBX1...RD600 will not install Vista...which is screwed becasue it says supports Vista on the DFI box...but some onboard device makes the install crash(all hardware that was in that rig was used to install Vista on this rig, and worked without issues)...so I gotta install XP on that box still yet... Ah, I love dealing with new hardware
