Galaxy GeForce 8500GT 256MB Review

Since Nvidia launched the 8 series video cards, they have been eating up the competition. Now the mid level and entry level card are making their way to the shelves.

A slow DX10 card doesn't make much sense to me, even if it is cheap to buy.

Well, according to Valve, some 2.95 % of their userbase have 7300. Given that the most popular cards are the 6600 (with some 7.88% of users) and the 7600 (with 7.21% of users), midrange is where the majority of users are.

Vista with a DX10 capable GPU manages about 1.24%, which is a pretty tiny amount. If that's the case, then it might be a bit questionable as to how important DX10 is currently!

I do realize there are a ton of these cards out there. I usually use a 7300 in a basic build. Gives a basic machine a little more go. Most people will not need anything more. I suppose an 8400 or God forbid an 8300 will have it's place. Especially in Vista. I still prefer to use one of these cards as to rely on on-board GPU sets.
