Those sound like great cards for HTPC rigs. It will be interesting to see haw they fair against the competition.

All cards are much the same now. But, I agree the passive cooling on an 8600 does sound useful.

ooooh ... my 8800gts (640mb) is a zotac

Its a 1:1 reference design card, and I was recommended it at the (very good) store where I buy as it cost a fair bit less than the competition. It was shipped with a nvidia driver cd and cables - nothing else, which suits me just fine.


As I have only had the card for a week, and havent had the chance to do any serious overclocking of my new rig yet (will be picking up some improvements to the cooling in a few days) I cant really say anything about it. Well - other than I cant make it sweat using this monitor (1280x1024) in any game I have tried so far (most notably stalker).
