Low FPS with a 8600 GT in 3dmark

Hey everyone,
I built a cheap computer for fun thanks to the black friday deals.
I just wanted something that friends can use. Anyways, I was putting it together and I tossed 3dmark06 on it and was just plain disappointed. Anywhere from 0-15fps.

Systems goes as follows:
Intel E6750 @2.72 (Thats how it came from the factory :weird
Abit IP35-E
2gigs of Corsair DDR2 800 6400
Evga 8600 GT 512mg
2x 320gig SATA HD's
LG 18x Sata DVD burner
Antec Basiq 500
Lian Li PC65B PLUS
($550 after MIR's )

Windows XP SP2
Directx 9
Newest drives for video, chipset, and windows.

Everything is factory defaults. Am I forgetting something?

What was your actual final score. 06 can be disappointing to watch.

Like sam says, go by the final score, I see 0 -1 FPS on the CPU tests.

(On a side note, Abit has preset the FSB to 272 as stock speed in a nice little marketing attempt to say there boards are faster out of the box than others. Which is why your CPU shows 2.72Ghz at stock)

06 is running ok on 8800. There are some CPU tests that go with 1-2 fps but those tests are not testing the output of your gfx card but the powah of the CPU! Your 8600 is doing ok. With a bit of OC you may go up to 20 fps/s in some tests.

I use Oblivion with my tests. With the rig in my sig

1024x768
No AA
No HDR or bloom
Everything else set to MAX

min of 30fps outdoors with ~5 creatures trying to kill me.
I find I am CPU limited during some changes.

3dmark06 I get 0-5fps absolute MAX
