GeForce 7300 GT nice OC, poor results

I have a GF 7300 GT AGP (don't give me a hard time, it was a free replacement for a Ti4600 from BFG). The odd part is that when I OC the card, I don't see very much of any improvement. The card's defailt is 350 core and 333 mem. I can get the core to run at 650 and the mem tops out at 396. I thought with an OC like that on the core, I would at least expect slightly more performance, but I only gain about 1-2 FPS on UT2004 on any detail settings (High, med, low detail) and about 200 points in 3DMark03. I can't complain too much since I can atleast play with high detail now, but... Anyone have any ideas (besides that it is a crappy card)? I used CoolBits for the OC, no soft or hard modding.

I am sure it is bandwidth limited. I think it is only a 64 bit bus. There is only so much you can put through that.

According to GPUReview it's 64x2 or 128 bit. By their calculations (theoretical, of course) the OC should have bumped the bandwidth from 10.7 GB/sec to 12.6 GB/sec. The core OC should have almost doubled. I would have expected a little more out of it. The memory is Samsung K4N51163QE-ZC25. Does anyone know where I can find information about peak voltage and speeds for these? There's also, 512 MB of RAM which is way more than this thing is probably using. Is there anyway to disable some of it to see if the remaining chips can OC any better. As a final thought. the memory chips are bare, does adding heatsinks actually do much for OCing. The last card didn't have any difference when I added heat sinks.

Here's the datasheet for the ram.

Might be worth pouring over.

Thanks, Pitch. More information than I'd ever need to know, but I'm already 5MHz away from the max frequency. I'm going to do a little more digging on the card to determine what volts/amps the memory's getting fed. It looks like the absolute max is 2.3v and the default is 1.8v. It's a shame, but it looks like the GPU can go much faster, but it's just spinning it's wheels past about 380MHz cause the memory can't keep up.

A fine choice of handle. Are you an abogado or are you just commenting on the virtues of some of the breed? Answer optional, of course!
