*NEW* eVGA Graphics card Overclocking Utility!!! eVGA Precision

Since everyone's been overclocking their cards now for a long time using RivaTuner & ATiTool, eVGA thought they'd get in on the action and make one of their own! (Release date was 4-30-08)
If you're not already a member of EVGA just register for free with EVGA to access the download...

Very Cool & Professional looking user interface! I already like it...

That's a very nice utility, if only I was an EVGA member. Sigh.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll go download it...and you're right, it is after all software...I just thought it would be seen more where I posted it. I didn't see your post until a day later after I made mine.

Anyways, I contacted EVGA and asked them if they were planning on implementing overclock profile hotkeys & having the tray icon show the GPU temps (Like ATiTool) in the programming interface.
They said they would forward the message over to their development team.
I'll be very happy with it once or if they do this.
Until then, I'm still using ATiTool for my overclocking & hotkey profiles I have setup.

Edit: Seems they've taken one of my suggestions and put it to use already in v1.02, or they were already planning on doing this and that's having the tray icon show the GPU temps...although I'd like to think I had something to do this that...hehe!

Doesn't this Void your warranty on the card?
Using software to overclock your EVGA card is supported and covered by their warranty. This alone is good enough reason for me to stay with that...

I have done my share of BIS OCing. I am not sure if it voids the warranty or not. Most card makers do not want you to OC at all. EVGA is the exception to that rule.

Who doesnt want you to OC ?
ASUS has its own OC utility and even OC hardware.
GIGABYTE again has its own OC utility.
They dont care if you OC, even if you do using these programs a card cant burn or something so you can always restart and revert to the original Clocks. Even BIOS OC cant burn a card ( However if an Bios file is faulty it can render the card useless ). What can burn a card is a Voltage Modification which i never do.

If you do a really stupid OC with bad cooling, it won't immediately kill a card. Usually it'll just be very unstable until it's reverted to stable...but it will shorten it's lifespan. Higher heat=shorter life.

Also, XFX is much like eVGA these days. They changed their warranty to cover OCing and replacing coolers and such.

Another reason I don't want to flash the cards bios is because...
1. If done wrong, the card is dead.
2. It will no longer run at the slower (Stock) speeds it used to and always be overclocked.

Why have your card overclocked when you are posting on the AOA forum? And forget about voltmods...I don't have money to replace HW parts although the 8800GTS is now going for around 150 bucks so that's a great price!

Were dealing with expensive and sensitive gear here. I don't think anyone should risk what they can't afford to lose. Some things are sure fire and hard to screw up, other things not so much! ":O}

My own comfort zone varies with the gear and my income! ":O}
