Ati R4870

Just bought the Ati R4870 Graphicscard.. and i was wondering, how far can i overclock this card without blowing it up ?...

Anyone around who can enlighten me ?...

The first thing I always do is see what other companies are overclocking it to.
The highest I've seen so far is 780 / 2000 which isn't that much from 750 / 1800.

What I always used for overclocking was ATiTool with any ATi cards I've used to find the max clocks on both the GPU & Memory, then take it down by 10mhz or so below that and see how it does playing games.
If it freezes or you get artifacts then it's too high.
You also have to watch the heat too! If you have fan control then up the fan to match the heat output so that it doesn't get too hot and burn it up!
Luckily with EVGA Precision I'm able to do this with my Profile Overclocks on my current card.

But I'm sure you know all this already as it's just common sense steps.
