Video or sound card card rankings

is there a site the keeps things simple? That gives some sort of ranking for video cards and sound cards? I've been looking most of the day just trying to decide if the pair i have selected live up to the sales hype and Trying to find independed reviews has become a pain.
These are the two I'm looking at. The sound card to upgrade from the c-media 5.1 and the video to upgrade from the 7300LE.

Creative Labs Soundblaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 7.1 24bit 96KHZ PCI 70SB079000000

512MB PNY Verto GeForce 8500GT PCI Express x16 Sli Ready VCG85512GXPB

I can get both for $100 and change.

For a simple comparison I'd use Tomshardware for graphics cards. Desktop VGA Charts - Tom's Hardware

For sound cards I'd suggest you read Wikipedia to compare the Creative soundcards.

Sound Blaster X-Fi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

eg X-Fi Xtreme Audio
'The entry-level model of the X-Fi series, the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio, does not actually have the EMU20K1 chip but is a re-branded Audigy SE '

(Which means it doesn't accelerate sound processing - no DSP !)

I think you will have to click 'view all products' to see the 8500
