ATI 3870s fail too

Quote:
EVERY TIME WE write something about Nvidia's woeful reliability record and honest communications, the fanbios come out of the woodwork and ask "what about the bad ATI cards?" We have spent months looking for such beasts, and eventually found out the source of those whispers, but it isn't ATI.

1/10 of a percent bad cards is pretty good odds that you would never get one of them.
If you did get a Diamond card, they are more than happy to exchange it for a new one with no problems at all.
So I really don't see any problem with this worth mentioning...

1 card in 10 needing replacement is an expensive game, that cost will have to be met by someone, the customer and/or shareholders.

Is that one in 10 or one in a hundred? One in hundred ain't bad, one in 10 begins to sound like Nvidia...":O}

( I should state that while I've had good luck with Nvidia cards, I've had several go bad, when still under warrenty, I had no problenm getting a replacement.)

Actually ( I used a calculator) 1/10 of 1 percent is equal to 1 in 1000 cards.
This is why I don't think it's that big of a problem.
