LG 32" full hd LCD tv

Hey everyone,

have not been on AOA for a while now,it has to do with a rock solid Asus x38 mb,hehe.
Hope this is the right section though.
I recently bought a LG full hd lcd tv,namely 32LG50 model, but cannot get the vga to display at all.I tried my nvidia 8800 GT,Ati x850XT and my HD divx player.I am using the DVI to vga dongle from all sources, but no joy.Is there something I am missing. When I check in Windows on both machines,it picks up the lcd, shows I can push res at 1920x1018,but even if I try 640x480,nothing.When I use the component out via nvidia or ati dongle,no probs, what am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Could be something like refresh rate or similar having an effect.
