saying that quilty for sony isn't there is kinda general. They hive high 8,digital 8, minidv, micro dv etc all of which have different quality standards. but that's beside the point. are you looking for one with an lcd?

Ah, I think I should be clearer. I love the video quality, but the still image's that it can put on to MemoryStick are not very clear. I am more then pleased with the Sony DCR-PC100. It uses MinyDV and has some of the best quality that I have seen from miny-cameras. I am just looking for a more powerful still image camera for reviews and such. Thankx |

I was looking on eBay and talking to my friend, and he said that HP is making some quite good 2.1MP cams. I rather like the price also! About $190USD new, and $100-160 on eBay! I am consitering ordering one today. Does anyone know anything about the 2.3MP HP Photosmart 318? |

![]() We purchased a Kodak DC280 a few years ago. This has been a super good camera. Came with a 32mb compact flash memory chip. Will take over 210 photo's if not at a high resolution. We use it a lot every time we go anywhere on camping trips etc. The new replacement for this camera is now called the 3400 I believe and it is quite a lot less money than we paid for ours. I will recommend this line of cameras.

I use a pair of sony's myself. DTR-17(?) mini-DV, and mavica for stills. Both use memory sticks so there is a convenience factor for me. Some of the newer sony cybershots seem to be coming down in price, and come with a carl zeiss lens (like I know what that means. ![]() Might be worthwhile just to have compatibility with the memory sticks. BTW, the way pricing on these cameras work, anything you buy today will drop 40% within 6 months. So only get one when you're ready to make use of it. If you wait, you'll always find something better, cheaper.

i agree with bongwater- olympus cameras are the best ![]() i have a D-490Z (2.1MP 3xZoom and in your pricerange) its a nice camera and can take abuse- ive dropped my 3 times from 4ft.... (you could actually hear me cringe.....:nervous: ) look at zdnet or somewhere similar they usually have fairly good picks *shrug* also does anyone know anything about the replacement for CDD chips that use 3color layers to achieve true color like "real" film?

ETronics.com was where we bought the DV cam a year ago. It was OVER $2000 MSRP, but I got it there for $1,250 ![]() Can some people please post images that their cams have taken so that I can see the quality of them? Thx. And where in h311 can I get MemoryStick reader drivers for my PC? I lost the CD a long time ago, and I can't seem to find the drivers online... For the Mac, it was built in to the OS... |
